My students would like to have the option to cite information provided in the “spoiler” sections on quizzes at competition. Are you able to provide a source for that information? Thank you!

My name is Kate Fields (now), but when you coached me, I was Katelyn Bertolet for Boone County High School in Florence, KY and my coach was Krista Kohl. I competed with Emily Martin and Alexis Bledel among several other extempers at BCHS.
I honestly did not realize that this website was yours until tonight and I just want to give you the biggest THANK YOU!! I am now a coach at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, IN (even though I’m no longer a teacher there) and the resources on this site help us so much!

We traditionally don’t cite information in our news quizzes. However, we often get our questions from sources like the Economist, New York Times, Associated Press, and other news outlets.

Hi! I’m Tyler Crivella from Seven Lakes. I wanted to first thank you so much for providing such a useful resource! I’m always checking up on the weekly questions and quizzes. Secondly, I wanted to inform you that the Capital City Extemp Round Robin is happening again this year. Not sure if you’ll add it for Nat’l Point Race but just so you have it on the radar. I know I’m always checking in on regional tournaments for competitors so I thought you might want to know too. Thanks again!

Hi Tyler, it’s good to know. The only in-season “selective” tournament that we count for points is MBA’s Round Robin, but it’s good to know this tournament is happening again. If there are results to share, send them our way and we’ll post them!
Hi there, I’m Robert Zhang. Your resources are the main reason I’ve been able to improve in extemp, and I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done. Since the very beginning of my extemp journey this year, I’ve practiced with your topics.

Hi Robert. For some reason, the weekly questions didn’t automatically post when they should have. Not sure if it was a WordPress issue or what, but I just went back and regenerate them, so they’re on the main page now!
Hi, I’m Robert Zhang (also the last person who posted a comment haha). I just saw the notice on the News Quiz about quizzes resuming in the fall, and I was just wondering if the weekly questions would still be posted through the entire summer (even after nationals). Thanks for providing these questions and taking your time to support us extempers!
Hi Robert. Questions will go up to NSDA Nationals and will resume posting the first full week of August, so there will not be any in the latter part of June or throughout July. We use the six weeks between then to have an “off season” before resuming content.
