An updated qualification board for the 2012 Extemporaneous Speaking Tournament of Champions has been posted. This qualification board reflects the results of the 2011 Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament and the results of state tournaments in Kansas, Michigan, North Dakota (only half so far), and Wisconsin.
Twenty extempers qualified to the Extemp TOC by making octofinals at the CFL Grand National Tournament (category 2A) and thirty-four extempers qualified from the Kansas, Michigan, North Dakota, and Wisconsin state tournaments (category 2C). This brings the total number of students who have qualified to next year’s TOC at eighty-eight. Due to its six class structure for state, Kansas has the most qualifiers at the moment with twenty-four. California and Hawaii sit in a tie for second with six qualifiers each.
