2011 Extemp TOC: TOC Qual Board is Updated to Reflect Stanford

The qualification board for the 2011 Extemporaneous Speaking Tournament of Champions has been updated to reflect the results of last week’s Stanford University Tournament. We appreciate the tournament putting its results online so that we could update our current list of Extemp TOC qualifiers.

Six extempers qualified to the Extemp TOC last week, bringing the total number of extempers qualified to the TOC at 206.  California gained five qualifiers last week and now sits alone in second place among the states who have qualified extempers to the tournament.  Washington added its first qualifier last week after Sarah Yu gained her second qualifying leg in the United States Extemp portion of the Stanford tournament.  Ten extempers earned their first TOC leg last week and the total number of potential qualifiers now stands at 310. Harvard, the California Invitational at Berkeley, the University of Pennsylvania Liberty Bell Classic, and the Salina High Central Forensic Invitational constitute this semester’s second busiest TOC qualifying week.  Additionally, the Alaska State Tournament is being held this weekend and all finalists there will automatically qualify for this year’s TOC.

After this week, only one week will remain for extempers seeking to qualify under category 3. If anyone is attending Harvard, the California Invitational, the Liberty Bell Classic, Salina High Central, or the Alaskan State Tournament, please send up results so we can update the qual board next week.
